Painted Sunlight

This project is a tenant improvement for a Sacramento AIA headquarters. This being my senior project is not yet completed but I have my progress shown below. My overarching concept is to bring the natural world indoors but taking large cuts out of the building to allow for natural light throughout the building. Because the AIA loves to educate I am planning on creating a gallery in the front corner of the building that can be accessed 24 hours a day 7 day a week so people are able to look and see what is new and exciting and hopefully, learn something new about the AIA and what they are accomplishing, My design makes use of as much space as possible and I was even able to create more square footage within the building between the first and second floors. My main design concept was leaving most of the walls blank and having the sunlight come through the stained glass that would allow for the white wall to light up with constantly changing color designs, creating and constantly evolving place of work.
